My 05 LT has a CD player and a six pack player in the back. Both of them skip so bad...they are useless. Even the slightest bump in the road will cause a skip. Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Bob.

I have heard that the BMW cd player does skip some. I don't have one so I can't say for sure. If it skip as bad as you say try different cd's. I have some prerecorded cd's that will skip some on my home players. If it skips with several different prerecorded disks I would take it up with the dealer. Maybe a new player is needed under warranty.

Get the dealer to replace it. I have to hit a "bone shaker" to get the CD to skip.

Same skip problem with the 6 disc on my '02. I find it happens more so with CDs I made myself.
I used to regret having the radio/cassette player until I got one of the cassette adapters that plugs into the headphone jack of my iPod (thank you, honey, that was a nice birthday gift!) Now I can ride for about, oh, 10 days without ever hearing the same song twice, and no skips, either!
Of course, my wife isn't particulary crazy about White Zombie or Type O Negative, but I just tell her the iPod is in shuffle mode, and it will be over in a few minutes!

Sometime ago I read that the bolts holding the player may be seated too far and thus contacting some hardpart that will cause the skip. Check that first.

If you haven't already done a search, check out this post from the Hall of Wisdom: http://www.bmwlt.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=K1200LT&Number=21458&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1
While this was written for earlier models than your bike, maybe something occurred with your specific bike (during a servicing?) which impacts your '05. But better yet, warrantee replacement sounds the best.
