A quickee for somebody near - my shop manual is off campus at the moment and I can't remember what's involved.

Gonna have throttle cables replaced tomorrow on Dave Moore's LT and on Toad. In addition, Toad is getting new brake lines. We stripped tupperware from Dave's scoot last night, and Toad is already nekkid. Question is: for the throttle cables, does the stingray need removed because the gas tank has to come off? I'm thinking yes; AND it won't affect Hank's work if the scoots come in w/o the stingrays. I'm pretty sure he has to remove gas tanks.

Just a quick 'yes' or 'no' will do it, and we thank you. :bmw:

If removing gas tank, yes.

Thanks, Raffy. Guess I didn't do the question just right. I know the stingray has to come off IF the gas tank does, butt I wuzn't sure if the tank has to come off. Think I'll play it safe; leave the stingrays on and let Hank sort it out.

2. Remove tank cover

4. Remove left air outlet duct
5. Disconnect plugs of injectors

8. Remove intake silencer

Hey, thanks Malcolm. Guess ole Hank has his work cutout, huh???

I think I'll leave the stingrays on - he can listen to music on one scoot while working on the other!!! :D

Are you getting the “new” cables? I had them put on mine a few months ago and wow, what a difference in response. However, I have noticed lately that I have been getting an annoying rattle/vibration from the grip when sitting at idle. I checked the cable routing last night and everything looks good. I’m going to swing by the dealer today and see what they think.

Yup - new cables. I had a partial set installed on Toad back when the service bulletin first came out, butt the installer dropped the ball and only had the opening cable at hand. I've been meaning to do the closing cable since then, butt it kept slipping my mind. And when Dave decided to do his (cuz his throttle is definitely a Bowflex cousin!), I thought of Toad's, and nowz the time, since Hank is replacing the brake lines also. Hope Hank keeps the rattle in HIS shop!! Good luck on finding yours.
