Butt, I found naught regarding my search. Last night, while removing the canister from ole Toad (a '99), I used Jim Beard's excellent HOW item on trunk removal. Didn't take long to git to the part where you 'nudge' those retainer tabs that are reachable thru the lockfinger slots, so that you can lift out the trunk liner. Well, after giving up on being unable to engage the port side tab, I tried the starboard side - aha, success!! Tried the port side again - still no joy. Forgetting for the moment about the BFH, I tried the McGyver approach and just yanked the dayam thang out - bingo, and thank you, Mc!! Well, then I saw the problem. Seems that leetle tab on the port side had been resting under the trunk liner all these years, or at least since the liner wuz last removed!!

Well, after reading all that, you can guess what my search wuz for!! Glue! Or adhesive! Or spit! Or sumpthin' to fix that tab back in place. Actually, I don't think whatever I find is gonna be a lifelong fix, since the tab broke off right at the flexjoint. Butt, if anyone knows what to use, I'm game to try it. If there doesn't seem to be anythang obtainable without an AEC or DoD clearance, then I'll just pop the liner back in and load her down with all the crapola she's been carrying back there. Ain't gonna go nowhere, I don't think. I might add a small strip or two of Velcro just for grins.

Anybody know what works on this tupperware stuff - heck, I don't even know what kinda product the tupperwhar(sp) is made of.

Thanks for listenin', or readin' instead of ridin'!!! :bmw:

My '02 liner is held in by velcro. One strip at the front and one on each side. Came from the factory this way and seems to work well.

I pull and replace my trunk often, and those tabs broke off long ago. Makes no difference at all, except for being a little easier to remove the liner.

Thanks Roy, and Ken - guess I'm just too anal 'bout these thangs. And where the heck wuz McGyver on that one?!!! Least he coulda told me to break off the other one, grin doin' it and it'd make next liner removal a walk in the park! ;) So, thass what I'm gonna do. Thanks again guyz.

Every time I remove that liner I have to chuckle. I really don't understand why those clips are needed. Last I checked...most things don't fall UP. After reading this thread, I have half a mind to just remove those thingamabobs next time. We'll see...

Ditto! :D One of mine broke off, I later broke off the other one on purpose. They serve no real purpose that I could determine.
