I am about 30 months away from taking the ride of my life, from North Carolina to Alaska and back. Now all I need to do is stay healthy and figure out a route. I am thinking 2 to 3 months duration.

I have a great respect for the collected wisdom of this site and am soliciting your recommendations for a route planner for such a trip. Specifically, one that is m/c friendlly and might have m/c destinations along the way. I will have a different bike when this trip begins, but at this time, I do not believe it will be a GS type bike.

All suggestions appreciated.

You may want to check on ADVRider as well. Lots of guys over there that do this trip with lots of information and insight.

get up North and then take Hwy 2 West along the Canadian border.
After Shelby Montana, take I-15 North and thence to calgary.
Head West on hwy 1 and after Kamloops take 97 North....
At Prince George catch 16 West..(yellow head Hwy)
Around Kitwanga, take 37 North (big sign says "North To Alaska."
A side trip West at 37A will take you to stewart BC and thence to hyder Alaska.....
Then back to 37 and up to the Yukon territory................................
The above route gives you amazing scenery and after heading west out of Prince George, very little traffic...( RV's use this route in June to go North then Back South in August)
Buty keeps you off the Alcan with major traffic........................
NOTE:::be sure to order your copy of Milepost to drool over before leaving, and to use to identify gas, motels, campgrounds, etc.........
PM me before you leave and I may join you......now that you've gotten me all hot to travel.
