Hi all, I need a refresher course on the different ABS /EVO systems used on the LT's
02: 1st year with power assist (I think)
What was the good and bad with this system other than bleeding difficulty?
Thanks

Roy - There have been many posts about plusses (many) and minuses (a few, including tricky fluid change/bleeding). ABS to me is a no-brainer. The power-assist on my 02 is just plain awesome - to me the perfect braking system. This is MY opinion. Best way I know to explain is to ride one of each. That's what I did.
Have fun shopping!!

No matter how difficult bleeding/flushing may be, the operation of the brakes more than makes up for it.
I was riding one evening on a major route (4 lanes, not divided) when some idiot in a cage pulled out in front of me and stopped to wait for traffic in the other direction to let him in. Had it not been for the outstanding braking on my '02 LT, I would have married his door. I remember thinking, "Oh, no, this is not going to be pretty" and then realizing I had safely come to a stop with distance to spare. Had I been on my previous ride (Intruder 1400) I know there would have been much more aftermath than just having my butt cheeks consume my underwear.

Roy,
Read this post (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?p=35608#post35608) for a description of the Integral ABS on the '02 and newer bikes. Also, try a search for "Integral brakes" and lots of good info will come up.
