Good Morning to all,
i have an RT since late December 2008. Before 2 weeks i've done the 10K km service and after completion,,,,,various "problems"? appear.
Extra's on the bike are the Remus Hexagon and a K&N filter and later today Denso Iridium Spark-plugs.
The most annoying thing is to have a 22,000 euros bike and at the red light waiting with neutral to shuts down by herself. Restart can not be achieved immediately, i have to switch off, remove the key and after 2-3 minutes it starts normally.
Last Saturday i went for a day-trip of 220km (440 total) and i realize the following:
Until the first stop after 100km, for 10 minutes, i had a vibration. After that nothing.
On the way back (i fill it up with fuel (normal not special)), on a slow down for a forthcoming u turn, while i hold the clutch to shift gear down i've heard the motor like stopped working but as soon as i release the clutch it was still working.
The same day, the return speed for the remanning 100km distance was not exceeded 180km/h with no problem at all (no luggages attached only tank-bag).
Yesterday while waiting on a red light with neutral the motor start slowing down RPM till drop dead. I try to restart 2 times with no success. I switch it off and then started normally but the stand by RPM seem to be less than 1000 (usually it is 1500 (cold) then drop to 1100 (hot)).
Sometimes while increasing speed the motor heard not to be "free",,,like trying to increase but it can not.
Any ideas what might be the cause of unwanted shut downs? (sorry for ugly english and terms used)
Is there any possibility to have failure: a) on the TPS sensor or b) the Idle Actuators, or c) a damaged primary plugs, or d) clogged injectors
I told the engineer to start checking the connectors for beginning as i've been advised by a friend with an R12S facing similar problems.. "....when a connection to either throttle position sensor is loose or intermittent, the R1200S goes into an "emergency power" mode and basically cuts available power in half..."
Thank you for your time,
