I swear that I have read so many post on this subject in the last few days that my head hurts. It appears that those that have the XM directly connected to the AUX have problems with low volume. Those that use the FM modulator have problems with bleeding frequency.

Here is what I have decided: SKYFI2 in the odments box with a direct connect FM modulator which I think will supply power also. Now I have to figure out where to mount the antenna. I have seen a lot of handlebar mounted units for both the XM unit and the antenna but I would prefer to keep the unit hidden away. I wouldn't mind the antenna mounted by the clutch.

Any thoughts?

As for mounting the antenna, I have a small hex head bolt in place of one of the brake res. cover screws & it's hard to believe but, the antenna sticks to that bolt & doesn't move. If it ever falls the wire will catch it & I could easily stick it back. Very cheap at any hardware store & you hardly know it's there. My plan was to make a small metal bracket & attach it with that bolt but, I don't need to.

I have my Roady2 on the handle bar mount. But instead of using the plastic housing that comes with the Roady kit to BOLT on to the handle bar mount, I simply use 2 strips of 3M Dualock which I apply to the back of the Roady unit and the mating strips to the handle bar mounting face. Unit mounts on or off in less than a minute.

Hope this helps.

I also have the SKIFi2 on my '03 LT. I connected it to the AUX input. Absolutly no volume problems at all. Just my .02....mine works fine.

Details please? Using the BMW wire 82 11 0 149 389? Do you use the cigarette plug or hard wired? Is it on the handlebar or in the oddments box? Where is the antenna??

I have no problem with volume with the AUX connection. I am using the Garmin 376C with the XM built in. I have tested my very old MP3 player on this connection and it works very well. I have the MyFI but have not tried it yet. I did however have the FM modulator and hated it. I went to the AUX because of sound quality. I mounted the 1/8 stereo jack in the oddment box on the left side. I mounted it there so I could plug my MP3 player in and keep it out of the weather. I have uploaded some of the pictures to my profile here.

Everything was installed by my dealer and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to all who helped.
