05 EH Centerstand Actuator Motor

My Centerstand light is flashing normally but centerstand motor is not making any noise. I pulled the motor the shaft turns freely so I put voltage directly on the terminals and the motor does not spin. Should it or is there a capacitor or motor starter or something else I should be looking for?

You obviously need to open the motor and check the brushes and the collector. Check the following link if it gives you any help:

So the motor should spin if i hook it directly to the battery?

The pictures were very helpfule. I got it cleaned up and after a couple of tries it is working great.
