What would be the interest level of people attending the 2010 rally in Redmond, OR next year to do an Alaskan Cruise. I found one leaving Seattle on Tuesday, July 6th and returning to Seattle on Tuesday, July 13th at 7am. The rally starts on Wednesday July 14th. Inside cabin prices are $699 right now. If there is enough interest we can get upgrades and who knows what else, but need some interest. I will probably be doing it anyway, just good timing.

I contacted the travel agent that will be handleing the cruise reservations. I would like to post this as a sticky thread but don't know how to go about it. The detail follow:

I can't make it for this cruise, but I was on a cruise from Alaska to Vancouver in June. The trip was excellent and the scenery was stunning!

We did that trip this year for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Pictures here (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2029503&id=1472245390&l=327ebff6f5). Don't think we can do it two years in a row.

As a side note, only moderators can stick you post at the top of the forum.

Carnival? :histerica

Carnival gets more complaints than all other cruise lines combined - they are REALLY, really horrible.

I won a free cruise for two on Carnival several years back - and if there was any way my wife and I could have jumped off , swam ashore and flown home we would have done it. Filthy dirty and run down, the food was like going to Furr's Cafeteria. Passengers were smoking everywhere and drunk out of their minds since the cheap booze was free. There was no place on the ship to get smoke free air except the bow.

But that was the best part.

The worst part that our "ocean liner" was a converted ferry boat that didn't even have stabilizers built in. While neither one of us got sea sick, the constant pitching was unbearable, and this was in calm seas with typical swells.

Now, if you can find a Celebrity cruise on that same date I would be gung - ho, but you're more likely to pay $6,999.00 per person.

The difference between the two is like staying at a Super 8 or a Ritz Carlton.

Caveat Emptor.

Those are great pictures Steve we are hoping to do an alaskan cruise this next year for our 25th anniversary.
Ron we took a carnival cruise to Mexico a year ago and it was great a little rough on the way home but there was huge storm between Hawaii and CA that hit Ca the day after we got home. The rest of the cruise was great and Cheryl gets sea sick pretty easy!
