Has anyone with an '05 used a Bridgestone BT020 radial in lieu of the OEM Bridgestone BT020 bias ply? If so, what have been your results thus far? Oh, and by the way, what cold PSI are you running? TIA!

My OEM's are Metz. 880's bias...
I run 42 front and 48 rear cold like early in the morning before the first ride..
Play with the front a little, somewhere between 42 and 44 is going to work for you.............Regards Pete

Thanks for the response Pete. BMW's owner manual and the vehicle information sticker located on the inside of the left hand side case indicates 36 PSI for the front and 42PSI for the rear for solo and unladen weight; which is what I've been running under those circumstances. Yesterday I noticed the front has started to cup at appx. 10500 miles. My radial BT020's on my '2000 never did that. I ran 42/46 in the radials and routinely got 14,000 miles on the front and 17-19,000 on the rears. BTW; I am somewhat anal about checking PSI prior to every ride and I use www.ride-on.com sealant. Oh well, I'll wait and see how these bias ply's work out.

Hi Bruce.
I have spoken to BS direct regarding radial tyres for the 05 as my dealer tried to fit a radial as a warranty job. They told me NOT to fit radial to the 05 quoting extra power and altered steering angles as the reason.
They also told me to run @42psi front and rear with the bias tyres.

Okay Goldy. Next time I go for a ride I will increase my PSI from what I've been running and see if that will increase the life of the tire. Thank you for your information!

I've been running the radial 020's on my '05. I really didn't like the Metz OEM tires, as they were treacherous on wet tar snakes, so I replaced them with the radial BS. I talked to the Bridgestone rep on the phone, and he didn't tell me not to do it, but asked me to let him know what I thought of the radial on the '05. I liked the radials on my '00LT, and feel the same on the '05. I can't figure why you wouldn't use them on the '05, and no one has been able to give me a good reason why not. I have about 5k on them, and will probably get radials again when I need them.
Hope this helps some,
Dave
