:D Well I didn't get to take a long ride, but I ran some errands today and at tooled around for an hour and a half putting 50 or so miles on her.........

I sure am smiling now. What a day!!! When I arrived home, my J-Pegs were on the front steps (Thanks Dave). Well now there on the bike! And I think I'm gonna really like having them.

And to top it off I went ahead and ordered my Bakup Backrest today. So a couple more weeks and I should be pretty much ready for the Spring :)

Well maybe some HID's also........ :D

Hey Randy: Just got back from a ride too. Cleared out the driveway of most of the snow; cranked on the throttle and spun the rear around to kick the snow outa the way. Great ride, about 80 miles.

Glad to hear your Jpegs are in and good luck on the backrest. Like to take a look once installed. Past by on my way to Rochester on Monday...

I bought my 17 year old son a 2001 Yamaha YZF600R on Thursday. Very clean. He has never ridden but wants to tour with my wife and I this summer, so I spent the day teaching him to ride. We started at the beginning...learning about the bike, shifting, downshifting, figure 8's, everything we take for granted. It remeinded me about how much we know and how we put that knowledge to use every time we ride. He loved it and took to it rapidly. Today was a gift from the weather Gods. I had one of the best days I've had all winter!

Brian,

That sure sounds familiar. The only reason I own my BMW is that I talked my wife into letting me buy our 17 year old a bike from a friend of ours. He had a Kawasaki 125 eliminator that his wife learned on. So once we decided that my son was getting it the wife said, well maybe you should get a bike to ride with him...... :D She didn't have to tell me twice. Within a few weeks I was out buying my bike.

Now I am planning on signing up for the motorcycle courses as soon as possible for the Spring time. I figure I will take it as well since it has been 10 years since I road. In the mean time I figure this 125 will be good for learning, but before Summer is over we'll need to upgrade him to something like a 650.

And now you know the rest of the story......well at least as much as I'm willing to type at this time :D

Good luck with your son, I know I am looking forward to it as I'm sure you are as well.

Chuck sounds like we were thinking a like. If I had more time today I woulda sent you an email. But my day was too broken up with basketball, swimming lessons, concession stand and the motorcycle to each, and then of course installing the J-pegs.

If it wasn't for having dinner plans with friends tonight, I probably would have driven up to Country Road BMW in Fairport today as they were having a Chili cook-off. I have wanted to get up there and check out their shop as I am thinking of taking the bike up for the 24K service before Spring.

This Weather sure makes ya want Spring to arrive even more.
