My wife complains a lot about the stock rear seat on our 2000 R1100RT. She says it slopes down in the front, and that she gets a backache from the trunk back support since it is too far back.

Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes short of replacing the seat?

Well she's not alone. When we test rode an RT that was the first thing my wife mentioned was that she kept feeling like she was sliding forward on the seat. She had no issues the trunk though.

We used to have exactly the same problem....& solved it by fitting a super grippy seat cover called Triboseat....

Triboseat (http://www.dutchman.org.uk/dutchblog/?p=85)

Pillion sliding forward is eliminated completely & once she finds a comfortable position with her back just touching the topcase backrest she can relax much more than before thereby eliminating the need to constantly brace her legs against the foot pegs to avoid sliding forward....

They certainly make one for R1100/1150RT....

My wife had the same issue... we fixed that by having our seat builder reshape the foam and make her a "pocket" towards the rear. that way she has a comfy nest and the 49 L backrest supports her in just the right spot.

Easy fix and not much money either.
