I plan on traveling down 81 so I can hit 'The Snake' (or part of it, anyway), the National Rally (to get the patch and t-shirt) and Deal's Gap.

I got my bike back from the shop with new front tire (can't believe the last one only lasted 17,000 miles before hitting the wear points), shaft leak fixed, radio repaired, new Nolan n103 (for blu tooth and redundant music capabilities), Airshell jacket and Rallye 2 Pro pants (I know- I'm not making any good fashion statements on that combo but I love the pants and jacket!). So, I think I'm ready to ride. Somehow I've got to ensure I'm on the Dragon by early Friday because of the weekend traffic. Still trying to map the whole thing out - just wish the Dragon was on the north side of the Rally!

Anyway, hope all can make it down to the rally, at least!

Feel free to leave any tips or advice for the ride. It's not nearly the furthest I've ridden but I've never been on Rt. 81, the snake or the dragon. Heck, I've never been to Tennessee, either! I guess that's why I have the GPS on the LT! It should be fun!

So far as The Dragon goes I'd stick to your original plan and do it on a weekday. I've done both weekday and weekend. Mind your speed and more importantly stay on your side of the double yellow line.
