at the 32nd Daniel Boone Rally which will be held August 13 to 16 in Boone, NC. Here is the website (with pics):

Boone is a college town (Appalachain State) located about an hour and a half northwest of Charlotte high in the Appalachain mountains. When it is 90 degrees and steamy in Charlotte it is in the high 70's in Boone. What's great about this rally is the ability to ride the great mountain roads in northwest NC, eastern Tennessee and far west Virginia. There are lots of backroads, old grist mills, wineries and the Blue Ridge Parkway runs right through the area. The rally is held at the KOA campground which is in a beautiful quiet rural area just outside Boone. Great access to local restaurants, the neat downtown area by the university and inexpensive hotels if you don't want to camp at the rally site. The rally is real laid back with a BBQ dinner on Saturday night (included in rally fee) and drawings for a bunch of gear that is donated by many manufacturers. We kick a bunch of tires (we have a vintage bike contest) and tell a lot of stories and lies at the HQ tent and around the campfires. Lots of fun, come join us!
