Jesse James Rides the Ice Road

So, I get an email from BMW the other day pumping up Jesse's latest show, "Jesse James is a Dead Man". He's riding a customized R1200GSA up the Ice Road from Invuik to Tuk before the road is completed (chance of falling through the ice and dying, -30 degree temps, etc.). Plus I guess nobody has ever ridden a motorcycle of any kind up there before, so I figure, what the hell, I'll check it out since BMW sees fit to tout it a bit and I like a good biking challenge.

I have no idea why BMW NA promoted this. BMW was never mentioned (the bike is referred to as his "custom built Ice Bike") and they have a single 2 second shot of the roundel on the tank. And except for a 10 second shot where he is sitting on the bike while running, they dub a f-ing Harley motor soundtrack over the entire thing! While the ride was interesting even if it was shot in typical Spike TV annoying style, there was no reason for BMW to be associated with this. Maybe the changed BMW to stand for "Bavarian, but Mostly Whores". :wtf::wack:

If BMW can get a few sales out of the deal, good for them. I think it may have been the local BMW dealer, not BMW NA involved, as this bike was for sale at Long Beach BMW a couple of months ago.

I see a few good deals on GSAs with flames painted on them in the future.

I sorry I don't understand the purpose of watching Jesse do any of his "STUNTS" on tv. I caught a few seconds of one where he was being chased by the police, I thought it was "Bad Boys episode!

I don't care much for him either. But I have been infatuated with his wife for many years now... can you all see why?

The email I got was from BMW NA, I'm not on any mailing lists for SoCal dealers. Either way, still a pointless exercise to be associated with it.

But as others here have mentioned, his wife is da bomb!! :D
