I tested a new light bulb for the Motolights. I was very impressed by the way the lights looked.

Instead of a single 35 or 50 watt bulb in an MR16 type supplied by Motolight, you now have 3 LED bulbs each housed in a single MR16 type in a triangle configuration. So for a pair of Motolights, you get 6 LEDs that look great. The light output is almost pure white and throws a pretty good spot on the ground during the daytime under a carport.

At night, the lights are very good. They are much better than the standard low beam on the R1150GS as tested in my driveway. Need to actually try them out on the road.

I took some pictures but you can't see the individual LEDs except in picture one and two the light on the left in the picture, gives you some hint at the individual LEDs.

When they get them in amber let me know, but then again I may just order a pair of white for the time being. Closer in color to matching the HID lighting I would suspect.

Yes. It's close to HID level white. That's what had me surprised.

Raffy,
Some LED's have a relatively narrow angle of view. If the "spot of light" in front of the bike is acceptable can you determine the if famous triangle affect from 50-100 yards out is effective?

I will test the lights tonight after the NBA game. It will be pretty dark by then and I can do it on the street. The lights have a 45 degree pattern. they are not narrow per se. But we will see how effective they are once I cover the headlight and the city lights on the Hella aux lights.

Pictures updated. The last 7 pictures were taken tonight. I have added captions to tonight's pictures so you can see the difference between the LED lights and the lights on the bike on or off.

Not yet. I was just testing them to see if they would work. I'll get some pricing and go from there.

I think the camera may have done a trick on that picture. I need to take another picture with the proper settings on the camera to make sure that the camera did not autocompensate.

Ok. I got pricing. They are not cheap. However, each bulb is rated for 50,000 hours of use.

Retail is $49.50 per bulb. I can do $89.00 for a pair. You save $10.00.

If anyone is interesed in getting a pair, Email me through this link:

Hey gang, these lights are great! I purchased a set from Raffy at CCR and rode them back home by way of Texas and Calif, and they really do add illumination at night as well as attention getting during the day. We ended up doing some night riding in Arizona and I was happy they were there! I feel that they illuminate the sides as well as the factory Moto-Light bulbs did, but are much brighter!

And if you check them out, day or night, they are as white as my HID headlight, rather than the yellow appearance that the older bulbs had!

They may appear expensive, but are really a great investment considering the life of LED's. And they do add a lot to your conspicuity (sp?) during the daytime.

One real happy customer, no connection to the retailer, just feel folks should know what a great product this is.
