The other day I found a couple of photos of the first custom bike I ever built. It was a 1972 Honda CB750four that I rebuilt and customized from the ground up!

Installed an RC Engineering 836cc piston kit and cam, Barnett clutch,
Mikuni Smoothbores, Mac Header and numerous other goodies
Painted it myself...Candy Apple Red over a silver base coat
Laced my own alloy wheels, added an extra drilled disc up front...etc.

That bike ran like a bat outta hades...but handled like a death trap....

I would love to see some pics of bikes that others have built. Post them for all to view!

These two I built from the ground up, granted they were from bought parts like: the frame from Mid-USA, the motors were S&S 100's that were worked. I painted them, too. I just thought I could work on Harley's till I got ahold of Jerry's '08 Ultra. Thank goodness he has a shop manual.

The pic of the black and red bike, if you look down the street, you'll see a 1963 Dodge Dart that I built for my oldest daughter when she was 16. I painted it pink with a green metallic overlay. Hey, she picked out the paint.

Define "custom" please. :) Seriously, the only bike I ever owned that I kept stock was an '02 Concours. And that was just an 8-month segue between my '99 LT in Wales and my '02 LT in the US. Everything else I've ever owned has been modified fairly extensively.

But here's an early pic that always brings back a smile:

Believe it or not, there's actually an '80 Yamaha XS1100 under all that. Phenomenal power (for its time), marginal handling at best, and pretty crappy brakes. Still, I didn't know any better so I rode that thing all over most of the western US. When it eventually wore out, I simply bought another XS11, swapped over all my bodywork and electronics, and kept on riding . . .
