Question on the Odyssey PC680 battery.
This battery seems to be the battery of choice by most.

Is it an exact fit?
What I mean is, will the cables connect directly without modification?
(The picture at the website looks like the terminals are parallel (flat) with the top of the battery case and not extended up (perpendicular).

So, is it a simple swap or is there something else I need to do?

And...

Will a standard battery tender work with it or do I need something special?

I've been using the PC-680 for over five years now with no problems. The angle is wrong for the terminals, but they can be bent (carefully) to fit, which is what I did. Or you can buy or make a simple 90' adapter. Here is a link from the ADVrider forum which discusses the Odyssey battery installation in a GS, which also has the same type terminals as the LT:

I know several folks are also quite happy with a Panasonic battery which is the correct size and good AH rating for a very reasonable price. Not sure on the model, but if you search this site for Panasonic battery you should get a bunch of hits.

It fits perfectly size wise, and only one cable terminal needs to be bent to fit the terminals. It is a GREAT battery, but the prices sure have gone up since I had mine!

This is another battery you can consider:

Generic replacement battery that works well. I've had it on my 06 for almost 1 year, no problems and I haven't needed a trickle charger yet.

And the battery tender works with the above and the Odyssey, but read your manual to double check, some brands/types of chargers could be different.
