Is anyone planning on doing a tech session sometime in the near future? I keep choking on the $700+ 12k svc. As much as I want to support Mortons dealership an open ended $700 is a tough nut to swallow. I also need to learn how to turn a wrench on this beauty if I plan to keep her and let her age like fine wine instead of milk.

This is a local club that has fairly regular tech secession, BMWBMW (http://bmwbmw.org/) You might check out there website. You just missed on in Purcellville last month.

Four years ago I paid $1200.00 for my first 12k service plus an annual. I've since done four more 12k services on my LT and haven't spent near that on the parts. I was lucky to attend a tech session in N. Va. that Mark Neblett showed us the ropes on the 12k service and more.
If you would like to host a LT tech session, I would gladly attend and show you the ropes on the 12k service. Or, you could attend the next BMWBMW tech session, and I could give you a hand. The next Virginia tech session will be in August at Open Road Outfitters in Sterling.

Dave, Rab,
Thank you for your replies, I will check out the BMWBMW site. I think I will be attending the August session and bite the bullet on this 12K.
I have been trying to get in touch with Mark but his email (from this site) is no longer active. I bought his 06 LT and he said to get with him for the 12k - Oh well.
Thanks again
Jeremy

Jeremy,
I'm also new to the LT world but, had a chance to attend NE Tech session met a great group of people and learned how to perform some basic maintenance at a fraction of the cost..
If you have the space (garage, backyard) most important (grill) sponsoring a Tech session will be educational, and just plan fun!! :yeah:
If you decide to have the session, you can get all your parts delivered from the boneyard.com..very good next day delivery!

Look at the rides of the folks for that tech session, all are R bikes. I think he's looking for a K1200LT session. Always better to go to bike specific tech session unless your just looking to meet other riders to talk to, unless you're looking to change bikes. JM2CW
