Gauges to mm2?

Does anybody have a conversion chart available for changing US electric cable dimensioning (gauges) to mm2 (square millimeters) .

I think there was one already on the old site but I just could not find it.

Thanks Dick for your help but seems that your wire thickness unit "gauge" is not listed on this conversion chart.

I keep seeing these funny units in various installations instructions like "use 15 gauge wire for this and that". It makes no sense for me. All I have understood is that the bigger the "gauge" number is the thinner the cable is...

both sites serve my purpose well.:) Feel a bit embarassed as I should have been able punch the right search words to Google myself as well :o

Is it so that AWG is the most common wire dimensiong standard on that side of the pond as far the various farkles installation instructions are concerned?

Yes, all common wire designations here are AWG. In engineering another one is used, circular mils, which is similar to your mm2.
