Looking for Sunglasses recommendation

I am interested in modular, interchangeable lenses, type of glasses. I at times need sunglasses and others need clear lenses. Has anyone found a good pair.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If it's for the bike then I really like the 7-Eye by Pan-Optics. The lenses change color from light to dark in the sun and they have a foam surround to keep the wind out of your eyes.

+1 on the Panoptx. Great glasses and very good lenses. I have given mine a lot of abuse. I believe as the Good Ted said they are now called 7eye .

I've used the Oakley M-Frames with different lenses depending on activity, plus a clear for use at night.
I need reading glasses, so I've used Optyx 20/20 lens inserts on all my sunglasses.
They're small plastic lenses that attach to the sunglasses with water.
They can be removed and reapplied over and over, again.

A major drugstore chain used to carry them for about $10 a pair, but stopped.
They're also available by mail-order (Google Optyx 20/20 or Optx 20/20).
Just discovered that they're now available at Wal-Mart for about $10 a pair.

Sure beats having to buy a prescription set of Oakley's or other sunglasses for several hundred dollars each.
I don't have to switch between sunglasses and reading glasses.
Hard to do on a moving motorcycle.
Now I can read my GPS and my maps.

I've always liked the classic Gargoyles - they wrap around - offer great protection when face shield is up, and no distortion on the sides. Instead of interchanging lenses, get two pair -one clear and one shaded - $72 each here:

I know this doesn't fit your modular, interchangeable lens criteria, nor is it the most stylish option (you need the right face to wear Gargoyles without the helmet) but under the helmet they work great!

The 7eye look interesting, I have saved the site.

I have always been a fan of SUN CLOUD glasses ever since I purchsed 2 pairs on a sking trip over 12 years ago, and before the original company went out of business. Can´t comment on the new ones as my original glassed are still thankfully fine.

I have been using a pair of Performance Bicycle with interchangeable lenses for the last ten to twelve years and the damn things broke this week. I guess I got my $$'s worth :)

+2, After having 1 pair of Panoptx lost them) I bought a pair of Willey glasses with interchangeable lenses and it was a PITA! The lenses always needed changing half way to work as the sun was coming up. The transition lenses do not get as dark as pure sunglasses but take care of the glare very well. Plus with Panoptx removable foam cup you do not have to carry a separate pair of glasses to a rally, with the foam in it gets very warm if you are not moving.

ZEAL Optics makes the best glasses I have seen for riding.

Also I did some Rec Specs from Pearl Vision. Great goggles. I went with no line, Transitions and they are too cool for sure, and seal nice.

The zeals had Clear and Dark lens, and then a pair of snap in lens that turn them to just plain sunglasses for when you get off the bike.

Pleased with both but the Zeals are the bomb.

I like the tinted safety sunglasses from Home Depot. Their with the clear safety glasses. The tinted ones worked so good I bought a amber set for wearing in the rain/summer nights.

The tinted ones look so good, I wear them when I have to take the cage to work.

+3 on the Panoptx. Mine are prescription and I have had them for about 12 years. At one point, the foam around the eye pieces had pretty much disintegrated, so I sent them back to Panoptx who put on new foam for about $20. Two years ago, I broke one of the ear pieces, sent them back to Panoptx and they replaced the frame for $50. They're pretty expensive up front, but the service after the sale from Panoptx has been superb.

I have been using those for years. I always used Serengeti Driver Sunglasses, and found that the Optyx inserts were perfect. Those inserts are tough! Once put on, they stay there until you want to take them out. I have had a set of them outlast 2-3 pair of sunglasses, which get broken, bent, etc.

Unfortunately I now am beginning to need prescription for far vision too, so now looking at getting a single vision sunglass prescription and still add the Optyx for close up. considerably cheaper than bi or trifocal prescription glasses.

Can't get you the brand names, but +1 for Home Depot. I generally keep a pair of clear safety glasses and sun glasses on the bike and occasionally I'll pick up the same at a local bicycle shop. They run between $10 and $25 and seem to last till I loose them. They are also impact resistant, which is very important.

you might want to take a look at Gateway Starlite safety glasses. They are very inexpensive, (like $5 at a local Harley shop here, or $3 on th eInternet), give great coverage, and have a coated polycarbonate lense. they don't look bad either!
