I received the following information from 'Dancin' Dave' and provide it for the members to avail themselves of. Pretty kewl maps. I quote ...

A member of your group contacted me after seeing the extensive mapping of GA and roads in the Smokies at mileageslaves.com Feel free to visit the site and click the roads button. You will find maps that can be printed out in great detail and these will be improved so they are more like the Texas Hill country and Vermont maps. The last set coming from the key Yankee Beemer folks. At any rate I hope this is helpful to your group. Be apprised however that we will improve the look and feel shortly.

Also, this effort was initiated by the Internet BMW Riders and includes certificates for mileage achievement to be awarded at the Branson Blitz -- folks create their own fun contest and of course win it. So if your club wanted to do that, let me know. ... That said, we will probably launch a more serious "real" contest at some point.

So enjoy the detailed maps of the area where you are about to ride. As well I asked your club member to send me the road lists he had been creating and to visit the site to make sure we hadn't missed anything from his perspective.

Not sure who to write to at your group so will send this one or two others on the Board whe can forward it or trash it or whatever. A lot of work went into creating those riding maps so we would love folks to actually have the fun of riding those roads.

They definitely have put in a lot of work on their maps, so check them out ....

No offense Barrett, but I'm not too overly impressed with their Ohio maps. :o Hopefully, their maps of the south are better. I'll just follow Tom G. (tmgs) around. He knows the area very well. He should. He lives there.

Maybe you could help them with their Ohio maps. I'm sure they'd appreciate some local knowledge.

Hope you guyz have better luck with that excuse, than yours truly! ;)

Hmmmmm - tested; failed! :(

Re-tested; re-failed!!

I think I need to enroll in Dale Carnegie's - "How to win friends and influence the better half" course. Butt dayam, I think Cheryl graduated in that one already - head of the class!!! :D

BTW - to stay on topic. My bro Phil (Cumming, GA) and I chat 'bout once a week and everytime we do, he tells me he has found a better road to ride than the last ride. He runs Nawth GA, NC and SC pretty regular; sez he can't wait to show some folks some twisty-road overload during CCR. Y'all living in his 'hood already know whereof he speaks - right Tom/Steve/Darcy/Rehder et.al.

One caveat, that excuse never works if she's wiser than you are. :D

Good point. But I know sometimes when people post links, they kinda take ownership.
