I have Works Performance shocks on my '99 LT and have put about 9000 miles on them. They don't have all the bells & whistles, but they are rebuildable which was a selling point for me. The rear shock is also lower'd, which has caused some tradeoffs in regards to aggressive cornering, but overall a much improvement over stock.

I have Wilburs shocks which are also rebuildable. Cost is comparable to Ohlins but at the time Ohlins shocks were on backorder in the US.
I've been happy with them.

I also put Wilbers on my 05 LT with 42K miles. I found them to be just a tad cheaper than Olins. I decided on Wilbers because a number of members of this forum believed Olins to be too harsh a ride for an LT. True or not, I got the Wilbers and am very pleased. I did learn not to order during European Holidays. It took 6 weeks instead of the normal 2 weeks.

I just put a new set of Ohlins on from hard racing performance. I am thrilled with the ride. My OEMs had 49K on them and were pretty much shot. The ride now is what I would consider firm but certainly not harsh. It's an excellent shock IMHO.

Replaced my stock shocks at about 45 K with the Wilburs. Now have 81 K. From a ride and handling experience they are excellent. Made a big difference in handling and ride. Did have to have the rear rebuilt, as the seals blew out. However Wilburs has a 5 yr warranty, so the rebuilt was covered. But of course I had to remove and replace and pay the shipping cost to a authorized rebuilt shop. I Used "Ted Porters Beemer Shop". Great service and very knowlegable.

Motorcycle Consumer News had an article recently comparing the Ohlins to another brand, I think it was Hyperpro but I may be mistaken. As I recall the bike was an R1200RT. The other brand did pretty well by comparison to the Ohlins.
My guess is that the Ohlins might do you a little better on resale, to the extent upgraded shocks make a difference to your buyer anyway.

I ordered a set of Works Performance shocks today; $200 to rebuild both and they offered a 10% RiderCoach discount when I asked if they offered one.
I'll let you know about them after the install. 46k on the OEM shocks now; I'm expecting night and day.

I don't think Hyperpro is offering any discounts at this time.
