A while back I installed a Nautilus Stebel Horn on my 07 K1200GT and it is great! There was tons of room to mount in in at least two locations under the tupperware on the GT with room to spare! :bmw:

My buddy who owns a 2007 Yamaha FJR1300 asked me if I could order one and put it on his FJR. I told him I would be glad to do it and "figured" there would be room SOMEWHERE under the plastic to mount and hide it.

Took the plastic off today and guess what???????? There is almost NO room under the fairings to mount ANYTHING. Absolutely no room to mount the horn where it wouldn't get roasted or didn't have to be disassembled, modified and mounted in two pices OUTSIDE the fairing looking like crap.

Just one more reason I am glad I have the GT...not to mention the fact that the fairing on the Feejer was flimsy as heck and felt downright cheap.

Oh..BTW, I went to the FJR Forum to see where Feejer owners were mounting theirs....you won't believe what I saw...No jokes....Here's a couple of pics:

Holy Cow, jack that is butt ugly! Take a mod with no cosmetic appeal and put it on the outside of a sleek machine. Functional, but just bleah. :(

That looks so bad mounted on the FJR like that that I have to admit it's what it would look like if I did the install.

I ordered a set of horns for a 05 1200RT and will put them on my 08 RT. The stock horn sounds like a moped horn. LOL

Actually, I cannot remember ever having to use my horn button. SIPDE takes can of that.

I have seen the use of the horn CREATE a worse suituation by scaring the errand driver and then making them mad. Rider was much better off backing off and letting the car just continue on its way.

There's clean installs where he found those pictures, but that's not what this thread is really about...

Oh really , You obviously missed my point ! This was a observation by Jack, perhaps a humeris attempt, Sure the GT may have more room for accessory placement and that is what I felt he was depicting . But the clean install Dale did show's Better options

My post was to help other FJR riders out not bash like minded riders .
