Hi all,
I am planning a trip from Detroit to Big Bend national park in April. This trip takes me through multiple states Illinois, Missouri,Oklahama, and texas. My return will be from Big bend to Houston, Houston to Michigan through Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and finally to Detroit.
I would like some recommendations on roads to ride through as I ride through these states.
Would appreciate any and all feedback.
Thanks

From Big Bend NP, ride the River road (don't miss this one) from there north to Ft Davis,
then Texas hill country, Leaky, Utopia, Bandera, Kerrville, Fredericksburg,
from there North into Eastern Oklahoma's Talemina drive into Mena Arkansas
just about any road in the northwest corner of Arkansas (Ozarks) is nice,
Route 7 is probably the most popular,
can't think of too much that's interesting from the Ozarks to Detroit
maybe one of the locals can help you there.

When in April? We'll be there from the 17th to the 20th for the DDLBBT (Drag Dick Largen to Big Bend Tour). BTW, this one should be more pleasant than last years BBBBT (Broke Back Big Bend Tour).

Thanks for the feedback.
I plan to head out during ester break to TX. My plan is to ride about 600 to 700 miles a day and plan to get there in 3 days. Spend the weekend at Big Bend NP and head out on Monday for another 3 day ride back to Detroit.
I hope to see some really nice country along Missouri, Arkansas and Tx.

I'm sorry to hear that,
If you're planning to ride 6 or 7 hundred mile days about the only thing you'll be seeing
is the taillights of the next car/truck you're trying to pass on the interstate.
I understand you're probably limited by time but with such an "ambitious" schedule
it's going to be more about the destination rather than the ride.
Maybe once you "a little taste" of what's "out there"
you'll want to return to actually see it!

Hans,
Thanks for the feedback. You got me thinking about my original "ambitious" plan. You are correct that will be putting a lot of miles with very little chance of enjoying the country side. I think I will need to take extra vacation days from work now.

Now you're talking! :D :thumb:
We "expect" to see some pictures and a trip report when you get back home!

Look up the Hogeye Trail in northwest Arkansas. It's well worth going out of your way for that ride. :)
If I recall correctly it's state highway 23 north from I-40 at Ozark and then state highway 16 west into Fayetteville.
