Ok I have a 2000 and am wondering what I need to get for the HID install.

I believe I need both H3 and H7 if I want to do both Hi and Lo.

Do I need to do both? or only the Lo?

If I do both, is there a kit from CQ that gives a better price for both as when I look at the 2 individually it's ~$258 but some have posted $213.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Randy

By far the greatest bang for the buck is to do low beam only. You can do either one or both though. High beam is nice if you do a lot of countryside night driving, but otherwise most just do Low beam.

You are right, H7 for low beam, H3 for high. High beam I think is a little more difficult, as the H3 bulb may not be quite a "Plug and Play" install due to the bulb adapter BMW uses for high beam.

You might look in my recent post about the install.....http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4217

213.00 get's you a mixed H-3 H-7 kit... that includes shipping... From CQ

Ordered mine on a friday afternoon and it was at my door monday afternoon.

Both bulbs are pretty much plug and play except for making a couple of holes...

John,

What part number do you order to get the "kit". Did I miss something on the website? All I saw were each individually.

Thanks,

Randy

I just gave them a call and told them what I wanted...
Was very easy,, That's what I'd do if I were you...

Ditto what John said. I called them, placed order and provided CC info in the same call. Received my kit 2 days later. Yes you will need two kits, H7 (low) and H3 (high) and they will ask you what color bulb (degrees Kelvin) you want. Kit should run you $213 which includes shipping to lower 48.

Thanks for the replys. I am so programmed to order this over the internet, callling never even enters my thought process anymore.

The computers are taking over..........at least in my mind :)
