Hi everyone - I'm trying to drum up some interest in a group buy. My new LT would love to have some and Ohlins just came out with them. Had them on my GT and the bike was a totally different beast. This group buy is to help drum up interest from us LT guys so that maybe we could get a fantastic discount.

I need to put new shocks on Tarkus before this riding season. I was looking at Wilbers but Ohlins aren't too shabby either. I probably wouldn't be able to buy until late Feb/March.

Just spoke with Alex on Ohlins shock purchase. After a few questions and some laughs. The order has been placed.
I asked a couple of questions he had not had previous. ? pulling trailer, any effect on shocks? Time frame on how often Ohlins have to be rebuilt.
1. Not much. 2. About once a year with 20K miles annually. So the biggest advantage is they are rebuildable, and performance difference from oem's.
His questions were weight 1 up, percentage of two up.
It would appear that a trailer will be less strain on suspension because weight is shifted from bike to trailer. with min tounge weight, pushing down on shocks.

Floyd - I'm glad that you were able to get a set; hope the other guys who were interested will still think about it.

I'm interested... it will depend on how good of a price break we get, obviously. I'm leaning toward Works shocks, as they are several hundred dollars cheaper.

I have been talking to my dealer about a new set of shocks for my LT....Is there any pricing info yet?...how do we participate?....is this a situation where we each call Ohlins?
Thanks,
Ron

Yes,
He ask for riding style, mostly two-up or single
My weight, with gear....
Also, he told me that they are a national service center for Ohlins, mentioned that they can rebuild Ohlins on site as well....
Maybe someone else that has had experience with Kyle with chime in as well....

Well got my Ohlins installed today, thanks Jeff Mense for the little tip on the rubber washer, glad my hand is as small as it is, now waiting on the final throttle cable part (mod kit) then ready to put her back, changed the coolant, fuel filter...
Thanks all, I just had to spend only one night in the Holiday Inn Express :) , but until I remember what Jeff had told me about the rubber washer and slip it off...heck the front will not go on or off with that washer in place, I was calling to make reservations for another night :D .
BTW, Dan Kyle with Kyle racing is OK to work with on the shocks, I needed to call him today about an issue with top bolt size and possible have to re-tap it to clean it up a bit... the design of the end of the bolt in top of shock..
Can't wait for the test ride.. maybe next week after throttle parts get here.
