Greetings LT community! You may recall that I'm one of a couple of manufacturers of LT Trunk Latch handle repair kits.

I recovered all of my inventory from Zotter, formerly "Millenhaus", and have been packaging and distributing the kits myself. I've offered the latch handle in the Matte Black color/finish, to date.

I've seen the handles in a silver-ish color. Can anyone graciously furnish me with a paint code for this color? Is it the same as the wheels and frame? A nice lady at Gulf Coast BMW in Houston said that she sells Wurth Silver Wheel Paint and thinks that this might be the same. Does anyone have a broken silver-ish handle for sale? I'd really like to offer the kits in the OEM colors! Are there any other OEM LT Trunk Latch Handle colors?

I've also been recently informed of a 2005 model that has an electrical solenoid locking system. Are the latch handles the same for solenoid and non-solenoid models? The bikes are fairly rare in public, so I haven't seen as many as I'd like! If so, I wouldn't be asking these questions.

Thanks in advance,
Evan Guy

OK, 72 views and no response. Let me rephrase the question. Can someone tell me if the silver trunk latch handle appears to be the same color as the wheels or frame, or other part on the LT?

There is a member of this board who owns an LT and lives nearby. His trunk latch handle is black. If there is silver on his bike that is the same as the silver trunk latch handle, I'll match to that.

Thanks,
Evan Guy

I can't really help you out with the silver color, but I do have a rookie question...

Is this the latch you speak of, and is this how they typically break?

I am a new owner, and if you are going to make replacements I am definitely interested in a black one, as you can see.

That is pretty much how the one on my 2000 LT just broke, only on the left side instead of the right. Guess I need a black latch kit myself...

Yes, that's exactly where they break!

We used to be a supporting vendor here. I guess it's time for me to renew that status! Coming right up!

I don't know if this will help but most automotive paint suppliers can read a paint sample with their portable guns. You could have someone get a read on their rear wheel for the silver color. Also since the base material under the paint is black, it should give a pretty good read for other color matches.

I've got a color "chip" book and have sent PM's/emails to a few members who live in The Woodlands area, north of Houston. Wolfgang replied, but his handle is black. I've had no other responses. I don't need to know where they live, and don't intend on hi-jacking their LT's, I just wanna compare the color of the silver handle to the samples in the book!

And I do have a Glasurit paint code, but haven't found a cross-ref yet. I'll succeed soon! Thanks...

I thought all of the handles where black from BMW. Maybe I'm wrong about that, if so, I'm sure someone will chime in and respond here shortly.

I think all the handles are the same also regardless of their age and whether or not they have the central locking system.

The weekends are a little slow on here but you should get some answers Monday morning.
