Hi all;

I am looking for a hitch for my 2005 LT. I have one on my K1100LT but will be listing this (again) on ebay ( part of the sales package!!) and it won't fit the 1200 LT.

I have read some of the posts on the hitches ( quite a few) and it seems that the Dauntless would be the best for the LT.

Anyone got a used one laying around ( with wiring harness and instructions!!).

Looking at pulling the trailer we have used for the past 8 years ( tent trailer ) custom made by a guy in Quebec. Pulls great on the 1100 LT so I have no doubt it should be fine on the 1200 LT.
Thanks,
Bowdon

Trailer looks good. I have a Freedom Trailer made in BC, I think the guy is now out of business.

I pull it with a 00 K1200LTC, using a Hitch Doc trailer hitch. I made my own wiring coping a unit diagram from an old Bush Tec trailer.

I then feed it into the hitch. I am sure you can purchase a unit from one of the auto suppliers.

Who made your trailer.

With the LT, be sure you use an isolator relay for the connections. Otherwise you can cook the sensitive electronics in the LT. Bushtec has them. Hitch Doc should as well. Bushtec's instructions are quite clear.

Happy pulling!

There was a guy who was semi-retired from Hydro-Quebec and made about 5 trailers a year (had to put an order in about 4 months ahead). I think he sold the concept to someone else but have not seen any on the road. It opens like the old Macdonalds Big Mac styrafoam containers). Weight is around 160 lbs and purchased the optional kitchen attachment and spare). hauls well, and sleeps two. Looked at selling this a few years ago, but only saw the nylon ones for a lot of money!!! I like the trailer, and we plan on doing some camping in the next few years (holds a lot of stuff extra in the bottom half). have to get a hitch first!!!
