I am looking at purchasing a 2009 RT and am wondering what kind of markup there is on BMW bikes?
Or what others out there are paying for there new bikes?
I usually try to get new cars at 15% off MSRP,but have no idea on a new BMW motorcycle.
Currently riding a 2008 Ducati Multistrada 1100S,but want something more tour friendly.
Thanks for any help or advice you may have.

I contacted many dealers on a 09 RT and each one gave me the list price with the options that I wanted and about a $1,000 to $1,200 discount. I was pricing a 09 with every option. I ended up buying a used 08 with every option and only 3,800 miles at a considerable discount from what I could buy a new one at. Every dealer wanted to sell me GT, which they said they would give me a "hell of a deal" on. The RT's are just to popular for them to discount. Only one dealer said they would "throw in" a free BMW tank bag.

Yea, for the most part discounts are few and far between. Generally they'll be on previous model year leftovers. Expect list, or at least something very close to it.

They discount RT's. My experience here is no discount on new ones at all. The best thing for me was to go to the dealer who'd allow me the most for my old R 1150 R. It amounted to a whopping 800 dollar difference but buying one that was not quite loaded got the end price in my budget.
Havent looked back, only regret is not getting the heated seat . LOL

Also, the advantage of buying a used one, other than price, is you will usually get some extra's the previous owner bought for the bike. In my case I got a almost new BMW tank bag, Sierra Highway pegs and BMW engine guards. That's over a $1,000 in extras. :bmw:

I just purchased a brand new 2008 with ESA, Cruise, Chrome Exhaust, Clear Signal Lenses, Computer, Heated Grips/Seats, a Topcase and Cylinder Head Guards for 19,361.00 out the door. My local Seattle area dealers would not deal on a 2009 and didn't have any 2008's left, so I found a new 2008 at Beaudry Motorsports in Idaho. There are other deals out there and I suggest searching the internet and entertaining the idea of buying out of state and having it shipped like I did. Some dealers like Beaudry, are licensed in two states or more to sell bikes. My out the door price included delivery, Washington State sales tax, and license. Good luck!
