They are held on by one screw...so you will need to get to that. I believe you have to take the windshield and dash cover off. I took mine off last year and can't remember the exact method. Just takes a little time and it is not too bad. Hope this helps.

Mine have a lot of road salt and dirt under them. I thought if I could remove and clean them it would be easier. I guess I'll do it the old fashioned way..:(

What I do for tight areas like that and wire wheels is take a very fine tooth brush and sand it down on sides to make it real thin and use a back to black liquid or wax that does not white out and clean areas ..

Every time I go out and it gets dirt on it ..
I like my bikes to be show room clean before I put
them in the garage..
Some friends say anal but I have a investment and keep
all my vehicles in new condition..
Have a good day..Joe

I used to be anal but after i turned sixty a few years back i realized i was wasting a lot of time i could spend doing more fun things. Not that detailing a bike ain't fun but not more than once in a blue moon. I had rather ride than tinker at this point in my life. But I do wash the thing after a road trip just to make it look decent.

I use Q-tips ormedical throat swabs if I can get them.
