The Curve Cowboy Reunion began with a few BMW enthusiasts who met at Broken Bow, Oklahoma, over three days in September, 2000. They created the opportunity for owners and riders to get together, 'in real life', outside of the internet. The camaraderie and joy of the ride at that beginning leads us still, this year to Rapid City, South Dakota, in August. At the heart of the event was a BMW touring motorcycle, the K1200LT, but the annual reunion opened itself to enthusiasts on all brands and models of motorcycle. The CCR event promotes three fundamental goals: to present a positive view of motorcycling; to promote rider education and safety; and to make a positive impact by contributing to a worthy local group serving children to help them achieve its charitable purpose in the host community.

At the end of this summer, ride to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota and spend September 1 through September 4, 2009 with us at the PREMIER, hotel based Motorcycle Touring event of the year.

We are pleased to have our tenth Reunion at the Ramkota Hotel in Rapid City. This hotel is perfect for motorcycles and represents a very good value. We will 'own the hotel' with our attendees occupying almost every room. With ample banquet space, indoor meeting and vendor space as well as a generous lot for our outdoor vendors, we will have room to spare.

Located in the heart of the Black Hills, the Ramkota Hotel will be a great location for this year's reunion. The Ramkota is a fresh and clean hotel with a huge attached convention center. While The Ramkota has excellent dining on site, directly adjacent to the hotel are many excellent restaurants and a large mall. Downtown Rapid City is a wonderful dining and shopping destination and the merchants are ready to welcome the 2009 Curve Cowboy Reunion.

There will be great rides from the Devils Tower in Wyoming, to Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Nearby are Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. Don't forget to visit the world famous Wall Drug when you travel to the Badlands. Come and enjoy all of the scenery and great riding that attracts hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists each year to the Sturgis Rally and Races, without the overwhelming noise and crowds.

Needles Highway and other routes through Custer State Park can occupy days of riding. You can travel from Rapid City through Custer to Newcastle, WY, then back through Lead and historic Deadwood to Sturgis. All of the roads are well maintained, with very low traffic during the time of year we will be there.

For those of you who like to ride the road less paved, there are miles of trails allowing you to explore the road less traveled.

Visit the Black Hills and Badlands website for even more information.
