Death Valley Non Event

Jim - won't be able to make it this year. I guess you got your rear drive repaired? Did BMW give you any help with cost?

Doug no BMW didn't help with 104K I don't think they would help. I had the bike back a week later. Not to bad with the holidays and ordering parts.

The weather in Death Valley was great ,a little cool outside the Valley.
The wind on 395 on the way home was a little strong in places. The riding was great I put on about 900 miles. The LT was flawless. Jim

Amazing place to ride, especially off-road with the GS's.

We are going this year one week after the annual DVD get together to miss all the ruckus.

Were there many bikes this year? Last year almost got snowed out and only about 100 showed up.

It was good talking to you, Jim. Glad you stopped by.

Didn't make it over to the campground, but there were far fewer bikes at the cabins and hotel than in recent years. Only saw a couple of rangers out on the roads and non of them were running radar.

As Jim said, the weather in the park was nice. Did the 155/178 route on the way there and got quite a bit of rain. Once we got down to 14/ 395 it was dry. Going home today we went over Walker pass and down to 395 which was pretty gusty as far as 178 which is where we turned off. Going up 178 there was more wind, rain and some snow flurries. Came out on 5 at the north end of the Grapevine and it was dry all the way back to Long Beach.
