Ok,
How many of us musician types will be at CCR?
I just can't think of a way to get the drumset in my little trailer..
Thinking we should put the Looney Tunes Band together one eve...
Anyone close to Brasselton have access to a drumset that we could use ?

I thought of organizing some type of jam band last year . . . but it never materialized. I play guitar ('lectric and/or acoustic), sing lead, sing harmonies, play a little piano, bass, 9 years of drum lessons...blah, blah, blah.
Bottom line: Part of me thinks it would be BIG FUN. But the other part of me thinks it's just a lot of work.

Maybe if there's a band on the wednesday or thursday night we can take over during a break....

I have mixed emotions about that. Not that I wouldn't get up and jam with anyone...I just don't know how the paid guys would feel about it. And judging from the last couple years, I think they'd get ticked if we're better than they are. :)

Dick,
I got a set of them in my car.. They sound Great !
But only to me.....
I'll be the first to admit I don't want some hack getting on my gear....But I don't mind a real musician.. It only takes a minute to tell the difference...
Most musician's won't mind if you treat them with the proper respect....Don't know how many times I've handed out that drum lesson and been asked to stay a while..

Here's the "interesting" part...
What genre of music do you play? Or (better yet) prefer to play?

I played Rock In High School. Went to college on a Jazz Scholarship..Even though I'm an IT now guy my degree is in music.
Playing in country bands is the only place where I've made my money here in Oklahoma.... Played in a Alternative rock band for a few years in the mid 90's...I can play most styles with impunity....I love all kinds of music... Currently playing country at least two nights a week..
If you want we can plan up a little "Red Barchetta"... does that spike your interest?

Yes...that'll do just fine. http://www.bigbikeworld.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif Now I'm a little more excited. http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/images/smilies/dance.gif
I've played everything (for a living) from Motown, to Funk, to rock and pop rock, to metal, a little jazz, but zero C&W. Although I've been known to fake a tune or two. I toured in a Journey tribute band for two years. Those boys can play, and we covered every song...note for note. For the last 7 years I've been the Music Director at two local churches. Not choir music or hymns, mind you...contemporary worship. EXTREMELY contemporary.
And oh yes, I can play Red Barchetta. In fact, there was a time when I could play the entire first side of the Moving Pictures album...note for note. But I digress...
Let me find out what's going on Wed. or Thurs. evening at CCR...and we can go from there.

Okay, so here's the deal. We have a band set for Thursday evening. We'd certainly look at a forum-generated band for Wednesday evening, and maybe we can make it worth your while to put together a band. So, work on it and send me a proposal if you get it together.....

A more or less improptu jam sesson might be ok. A full night might be a little more difficult to pull off. The real problem would be getting enough gear together to do it. Just haven't figured out a way to get the drumset on the bike. Unless someone is bringing a van or something big and would be willing to haul it... But a half a dozen or so songs or even a set during the Thursday night band using their equipment would be a lot of fun. And a whole lot less to deal with..Bands take 30-45 minute breaks all the time. That'd be enough for those of us with the chops to show off a little...Yes I said show off...I got into the music business to show off and get girls.....And free liquor...
And Joe, Journey was one of my fav's back in the day...we can cop some of that....Nah nah nah nah nah nah, Nah nah nah nah nah. I'll be right there with you.

First and foremost . . . we need a bass player. (Keys would be bonus.)

Why not ask the hotel to handle the equipment. I know they have a sound system and I'm sure they will know where to get the rest of the equipment locally. If their the class act I think they are they'll probably even spring for it. I'm a drummer also and concur that even with all the storage on the LT it just ain't enough to haul a kit around.
