I posted the info on the K-Bikes.com forum. Thought some of you might be interested in the results as well.

Did a Dynostar dyno run (2 runs) this morning around 10 AM on my K1200R.

Stock K1200R HP rating at the crank is 163 H. A stock K1200R puts down about 136-137 rwhp and has 80-81 lbs-ft torque.

My modifications were:

Remus full Titanium exhaust system.
I opened the blocked off air box (that's how BMW de-tunes the R. The S has two filters while the R has one) and installed two new filters by Evoluzione.

Bike had 1080 miles at time of dyno run.

First dyno run with temp at 57.3 degrees ran 151.8 hp and 93 lbs-ft torque at 10:01:42 AM

Second dyno run with temp at 57.7 degrees ran 153.1 hp and 94 lbs-ft torque at 10:03:03 AM

Raffy,
What kind of RPMs were you turning when you got the max numbers on torque and HP?

Hi Jack:

Thanks Raffy, This will make for some interesting conversation with a few of guys at work next week. They have been reading the articles and are really interested in the new motor, starting to ask a lot of question about BMW. :)

Raffy, looking at the A/F ratio it sure seems to me you have more power in that curve to extract. Wonder if PowerCommander has a box that will fit your model yet?

Not that I am aware of.

I really like the K1200R.

Raffy; what is engine vibration like?, is there some and if so what rpm?
ie compared to K1200RS and possibly Hayabusa or Honda 1100XX

How does the transmission shift?, smooth and easy or is it notchy?

Thank you

There is a bit of vibration around 80 mph range. But I understand it goes away gradually as engine breaks in. One of the vendors tells me they breakin the bike on a dyno and there is absolutely no vibration. Wish I had known that.

Tranny clunks a bit. Shifts in higher rev ranges tend to be smooth. The bike likes to be above 2500 rpm. Below 2500 rpm and it feels like there is a bit of fueling problem.

Definitely better than a K1200RS. Have not ridden the others.

Thank you. I assume from your comments you would buy the bike again.
Thanks for sharing the info.

Yes I would. I'll probably get another bike (touring/sport touring typ in 3 years) but will keep this one.
