I had a used one for exactly one day. Took it off and resold it before day 2. The bubble and material distotion caused me a severe vision and depth perception change. Others love em...but I'd rather do without a shiels all together if I had to use an aeroflow.
Other than that they're pretty nice :)

John,
Attached are some pictures of the aeroflow shield. I had it so long that I believe that this is their tall shield. You either have to like it or not. I am 6'-1" and lower the shield enough to look over it, or look above the "bubble". If I put the windshield all the way up, I can still see through it with no problems. I think that those who remark that they cannot see through the bubble must be looking straight down in front of the bike. As for passenger comfort, my wife got buffered with the stock shield, with the aeroflow, the buffering has disappeared. I haven't tried a LT with the CB shield and often wonder how it is. Other than that, I am satisified with the aeroflow. One other thing that I noticed with the shield is that on cold mornings (below 35), the shield will have a blue tint to it. I doubt that you will have that problem!

Hi John. I have the standard height Aeroflow and like it. If you look down and immediately in front of your bike you will experience visual distortion. However, the shield is made to 'look over' or through its upper portion. My wife loves the wind protection it affords her. The only complaint I have is that its hard to clean all the bugs and road dirt off of in summer riding due to the laminar lip. One last note. Aeroflow states to "not use the chrome" windshield covers. I have used my chrome covers for over two years without problems whatsoever. If you choose not to use your covers it makes for a butt ugly installation imo.

Mike,
Thanks for the pictures and the time. I am like you, I am 6'00 and get buffing. I know my wife gets it too, but she will not say anything because I love the motorcycle. I like the build in liminar lip. We will see. Again thanks.

I also bought a used Aeroflow because I didn't want to gamble on a new one. I took it off after about three days and sold it on. The distortion was much worse than I expected and I never got used to it. I also live in L.A. where splitting lanes is a way of life, and the Aeroflow distortion meant that I could not accurately judge where the cars were just in front of or beside me. Sure you look way down the road while traveling, but you also need to see close to the bike when parking or riding slowly.
I've been using a Cee Bailey #2 windshield for years without any problems, and my wife won't ride with anything else.

I just ordered the Areoflow tall shield. We will see. I know we are all different in our riding and comfort level. I tried the CB, however I had gotten a bad shield and was treated like crap, so I did not re-order. I will give Areo a try. My wife will kill me if I do not like and for you if may be a cheap used one time windshield.

Glad to here you are taking a shot withe aeroflow. Once you adapt to the distortion in the shield you will be fine. I also have the cee bailey shield and prefer the aeroflow.

Just got my areoflow in. It was a witch to put on, but I got her done. Was able to take a few miles. I like it. It is big and I see the distotion folks are talking about. It has taken the helmet buffing and it is quiet also, I think I am taking a long trip in two weeks. I will let you know. I like the way windshield side match up to the other winglets. Not the winglets that move in but the other one closer to the windsheild.

I have been riding behind a standard Aeroflow since early 2003 and done many 500 to 1000 mile days with this shield totaling about 40k miles on two LT's (99 and now 2003). The weather protection is significantly better than the stock shield (which I also rode for 15k miles). The biggest benefit for me is the significant reduction (though not elimination) of back pressure compared to the stock shield.

An alternative is a stock windshield with a Laminar Lip. It kicks butt.

Anyone have any experience with the Areoflow air management kit? My Cee
Baily is an improvement but it seems like too much air coming under the shield. The kit seems expensive. Would love to hear your comments.
