Yep, the K12 is a great winter bike. Being able to ride in winter without massive winter gloves is a great safety feature IMHO.

Those heated seats and grips are a wonderment IMHO..........don't miss understand the fact that this morning was still 16 below so it is not like I'll run out and hop on 'Ol' Dollar' but that's just because the streets and roads are still pretty iced up..........have been on the bike in some pretty d**n'd cold weather and love it...............some of the local snow sledders have threatened to steal the secret ingredients from the seat..................pity.................... :histerica

This darn thing has me spoiled.............(call it an 'aging prerogative).... ;)

enjoy the warm weather out there Woody; and do B-Safe; Jim

Just add some heated gear and you can do away with your other vehicle. A jacket liner under a wind breaker and some electric gloves makes it a true pleasure even for distances in the cold.

Agree.
Here in Minnesota I don't ride when the roads are snow or ice covered, as they are now. But in late fall or early spring I may still get out for a ride when it is only in the 20's. After I take off my helmet, it is colder than when I was riding. Heated seats, grips and a good windshield/fairing are sure great!

I did a little over 200 miles on new years morning in the N Georgia mountains. My temp gauge hovered around 32* all day. I do cheat and have Gerbings but this bike is GREAT in cold weather.

BTW....I'd rather cheat and be comfortable. I'm too old to worry about my ego.

It is nice to hear from people who are happy with the LT. It is a wonderous machine.

I second that on the cheating. I used to be a tourguide for motorcyclists and one day, just outside of Malibu, CA around 7 in the morning there was frost in the air, and boy was I laughed at for putting on my heated vest before I ventured out. Well, about a quarter hour later my group had stopped behind me, and when I turned around and pulled in front of them, they were literally blue in the face, a bunch of frozen Germans they were. It was a pleasure having the last laugh.
Being comfortable on this bike is what it's all about, I think!
