Hi guys
Yesterday i was in "Thinking" mood.
I was thinking that IF slave cylinger is leaking and so loosing oil in to my clutch, that would be result my brake fluid resevoir running out of fluid,,right?
But why my reservior is not loosing oil?
Havent open clutch yet as parts has not been arrived so dont have visual from inside.
I have checked all fluid's\oils in my bike and non of them loosing anything.
Any comments on this?

I had a related experience recently: lost the clutch, fluid was low, but the clutch hasn't slipped (plus or minus 1,000 miles in the last 3-weeks; 800-miles this past week). Serviced the clutch fluid reservoir and no problem since. Servicing always appeared to be on the "low side" of the half-way mark but it was cold that day (30-40 degrees); it is a beeyatch to get the tranny in to neutral at a traffic light! I finally remembered: shut the engine off, shift to neutral, start it up, pump the clutch lever and go when ready.
DOT 4 fluid is used in the brake and clutch reservoirs on my '99 LT; losing fluid from the brake fluid reservoir will not cause the clutch issue but the loss of fluid from the clutch fluid reservoir could indicate an impending issue.
Best of luck!

Hi guys this problem sounds so familiar to me. I thought I had a bad piston in the clutch lever asembly so I rebuilt that then flushed and bled, no luck. Second step was to replace slave cylinder. no difference clutch let go two weeks later on my way home from work. A AAA toe home and then to my local dealer The clutch disk was totaly void of any fiber material. The bike was due for 36000 mile service at this time also. k1200lt now rides like new :) good luck on your rebuild

Are you checking the brake fluid level in the CLUTCH reservoir at the clutch handle? The BRAKE fluid reservoir under the seat has no relationship to the clutch. Just asking, as it is not clear from your post.

I have taken precautions and ordered new slave and clutch plate and all what need to be changed,,,but will not open it before i have parts here, and hoping that when i open it,, the light comes to this issue,,

If you're clutch slave cylinder is leaking, it will lose fluid. If the rear main seal is leaking or if the transmission seal is leaking oil into the clutch cavity, you won't notice that unless you see some oil seeping from the bell housing. My clutch slave leaked and I lost some stroke on my clutch at the handlebar and it would leak off when I tried to hold the clutch in. If your clutch is slipping, it's either worn out or damaged from oil contamination........... :(

Good Point,,,as i'm not loosing any oil or fluid,,,ok, like said godda wait for parts and then open it and then will see,,will let you know guys.
Thnx again
edit: clutch is slipping only at 4th and 5th gear in quick acceleration i.e. over taking.

edit: clutch is slipping only at 4th and 5th gear in quick acceleration i.e. over taking. That is a definite proof that you have a contaminated clutch. Had the exact same symptoms twice, once for a leaking clutch slave cylinder and the other for leaking seal on the engine output shaft. It will only continue to get worse until it does it in all gears.
Oh By The Way, I never saw a reduction in clutch fluid or engine oil in either case. It doesn't take much oil to contaminate the clutch.

I had the same issue myself caused by a transmission seal that leaked.. That was after loosing two other transmission seals and a rear main seal on three different occassions. I no longer have the LT but ride an '05 RT..
