We all complain when something goes wrong but seldom say anything when things go right. Well, a few weeks ago I mentioned on these threads that the windshield lifting mechanism on the beast was damaged during a tip over when the windshield hit the garage wall. I had it replaced with a new one. That one never worked quite right, but I was hesitant to say anything because I had also replaced the windshield with a Cee Baileys #2 -4 and thought that BMW would blame the additional wind resistance for the problem. Not true. I took the bike to Cross Country BMW in Methuchen, NJ and without incident they diagnosed the problem, ordered another new part and installed it with no charge. Four days to get the part and they installed it while I waited, about 45 minutes. Works great now. I'm glad for the advice I received here that there was a problem with the mechanism and also to have a great dealer so close by.

You keep reporting positive comments like that...and "the mob" is likely to lynch ya!!! :D

Great to hear. And thanks for taking the time to report the good news.

I took the bike out for a brisk 38 degree ride over to my dealer's shop today as i had left some keys on the trade-in bike. I was looking forward to seeing just how well my heated grips and seat were going to work with temps this low. I was not disappointed with their performance, but was rather unimpressed with my CD player's propensity to skip at about every miniscule bump and rut in the road.
I recalled reading some posts here a week or so ago about the CD player and how, if it skipped easily, should be reported and replaced.
I was given a warm and fuzzy greeting by the poor sods stuck working this Saturday and of course they inquired about my satisfaction with my new purchase, any problems, etc. As soon as i mentioned that i believed my CD player was skipping a bit too much they didn't even ask me how much it skipped--they just told me they were ordering another complete unit and I could either bring the bike in and have it fixed while i waited or i could schedule it to be done at the 600 mile service.
Then they threw in a quart of S100 cleaner and a sweatshirt just for the hassle!
Now ain't that nice?

:) Nice is boring! As evidenced by TV News, radio news, newspapers, news magazines, all talk shows. C'mon . . . no one likes nice!

And to add to the not nice theory, this thread's gonna be moved to maybe . . . uhhh, let me guess, chit chat (nah, humor), or perhaps, dealer reviews!

That wouldn't *prove* anything John. This thread really doesn't belong in the K1200LT Forum, does it? The topic is not really about the K1200LT. It's about customer satisfaction, best I can tell. And the closest catagory we have for that is the "Dealer Reviews" forum. So . . . you just simmer down, and stop causing trouble! :)

I thought about putting this thread in the dealer review catagory, but, I have found that not nearly as many people read the other catagories. If I ask a question regarding two way radios in the K1200LT forum, within an hour 100 people will have read it and about 10 will have responded. When I posted that same question in the gadgets/intercom forum, I received no responses. I'm guilty of this too as I have my favorite forums and only visit the others when I have a question for that catagory. Problem is, who has the time to review every catagory on the site?

PS. This message does not elong here either and will probably be moved to the chit-chat forum !

I'm guilty of this too as I have my favorite forums and only visit the others when I have a question for that catagory. Problem is, who has the time to review every catagory on the site?I hear ya, and I feel ya. Sometimes I think "the new site" has too many sub-catagories. But that has it's benefits, as well. I only know that I don't envy the admins.
