I recently spent a weekend with my SO and two oldest granddaugters (19-15) in Gatlinburg and stayed at the Park Vista Hotel. This was the sight of my first CCR, and boy did it bring back some nice memories. Going up and down that driveway in a car was sure different then doing it on the LT. I have been to the area a number of times since 03, and always enjoy the fantastic roads and scenery. But staying at the hotel and looking down on the parking lot and seeing it filled with cars instead LT's like it was back in 03, seemed wrong. I took the girls to the Dixie Stanpede, and fondly remembered our non stop parade of bikes for that 5 miles or so. While it was my first and I have made CCR since then, which have all been great, that first one really sticks in my mind. Made friends that are still friends, which is always a good thing.
Some pictures attached to bring back memories.
I would vote to have another CCR there.

LarryIt would be my choice to go back as well. We always put them in the mix - one of these years we probably will go back.
Your first picture brings back memories. I planned to keep that bike forever, but with my SO caught up having her own bikes, we just dont have room to keep them.

Well, if CCR does come back to Gatlinburg, I will just have to show up, bike or no bike! Since I only live about 30 miles from there now.
I really enjoyed the Gatlinburg CCR, even if my bike was in Nashville with a failed final drive the whole time. :(
Of course, I really enjoyed all four of the CCRs I attended. Hot Springs, Santa Fe, Gatlinburg, and Breckenridge. Any of the four would justify a return. I think I enjoyed Hot Springs and Gatlinburg the best of those four though. Maybe it is because Hot Springs was my first one, Gatlinburg the only one my wife attended with me.
