Boyz-

We are just about the only region in the forum that no longer seems to ride together.

How about some RTE ( Ride to Eat ) somewhere? It does not have to be breakfast so we can all make it.

What say you cccraaazzzyyyy cats?

Good on ya, Spiros. Gettin' together now and then with the doods in the 'hood sure seems to add to my pleasure of riding around on ole Toad. Much rather that, than eat by myself somewheres. And speakin' of early breakfasts, us'ens here in the Tejas Hill Country still do the Friday early mornin' gig at *$$ which starts around 0500 - been doin' it since 2000 - and then a ride to a cafe-of-choice for the hearty breakfast. Sumpthin' I look forward to rain or shine.

Best of luck in round'n 'em up and gittin'-r-done, Spiros! :thumb:

I'm in for pretty much anything in the RI/Eastern CT/Eastern MA area (once the weather warms up some).

I'd probably go as far west as Hartford or maybe Bristol, CT. I can't ride more than 90 minutes or so to eat breakfast - my stomach wouldn't make it!!!

Let me know!!!

Just waiting for an opportunity for a few more people to see this thread before we can decide time and place.

As I said, lunch sounds good to me as well besides breakfast to ensure that people from further away have a better opportunity to make it

Thanks,
Spiros

PS: Dick, long time no speak ... Wish you could make this ride ....

My bike is never put up for the winter so if the time, place, weather and honey doo lists all line up just right I'm in. I don't know of a list anywhere with possible spots identified so here's one... O'Rourkes Diner (http://www.orourkesdiner.com) in Middletown CT. It was just featured on food network this week. Pretty unique menu.

O'Rourke's looks good!

Like you said, Alimar, "if the time, place, weather and honey doo lists all line up just right I'm in." If it all comes together, I'm in too!!!!

I have not started up the bike for over a month and now the battery is dead.

Happy New Year !!!!

I am waiting for a warmer day to jump the battery with the portable battery pack for the car !!!!

No worries, I have done it in the past!

Hi Spiros, Happy New Year!

Too bad about the dead battery. Maybe if you aren't going to start the bike for a while it would be a good idea to disconnect the negative terminal. That way the bike won't draw down the battery with all the electronics. That would be a lot less trouble than actually removing the battery and bringing it inside.

It's bad for a battery to be deep discharged like that, you'll find that it won't charge up like before and you'll begin to have trouble starting.

Another thing you could do if you don't start the bike for a while is just hook up your portable battery and leave it attached for a few hours every week. That way your portable battery will recharge the bike's battery and you won't end up with a dead bike battery. You could make up a connector to plug the portable battery into the power outlet on the bike. The wiring isn't heavy enough to start the bike with a dead battery using the power outlet, but you could "top off" the bike's battery by just connecting the portable battery through the outlet.

Cheers,
Curtis

WOW! I haven't heard from you guys in a while. I hope all is well. I'd like to get out and ride, but I too wait for slightly warmer weather. Last year I only rode once because of work and family...grandkids take up more time than I thought but I LOVE IT!!!

Hope to see ya soon.

Still iced in back in the woods here. Perhaps this rain will free me up. Looks like the temp is going to plummet again later this week, but it won't last forever.
Its good to hear from everyone.

Name the time and place and count me in!

We're counting on an early ice-out up here in ME - Farmer's Almanac is saying early July, but I'm betting we'll see green in June sometime. Just like every late January, motorcycle dreams are beginning to return and I'm finding myself doing some wrenching on an older KTM 950 - couldn't get used to not having a GS and apparently needed something (else) that was highly maintenance intensive.

I'm up for an early (late?) season ride as long as snow/ice aren't in the forecast.

Perusing advrider ride reports during yet another snow storm yielded the following intriguing trip report. Any of you guys with dual sports (or TKCs on your LTs) interested in doing a ride something like this (who says you have to go to AK?)?:
