This may be a viable option to ship a bike. Whether you're buying a bike online...or maybe you want to ship your bike somewhere, fly there and ride it, then fly home. It's not my cup of tea, but I figured I'd post the information.

After my accident in Wyoming this fall I shipped my newly repaired bike home using Allied Van Lines. Allied has steel pallets and ties the bike down very securely to them when shipping. I received the bike with no damage, and only one day late. The only problem was that my EZ-Pass was inside the bike, and I paid the truck tolls on the PA Turnpike and the Indiana Turnpike. Both were later refunded.

Joe, you seem to be very knowledgable about Harley stuff... are you thinking of joining the "dark side" too?

My stable will adorn at least one Harley before my dying day. But not yet . . . no, not yet.

The only way any Harley is going to become part of my stable is if I win one or inherit one.
Sorry guys There is nothing to get me to buy one unless I could sell it for a big profit later.
Buy and ride no way.

I'd want a new V-Rod. Or an old PanHead. All white, w/ white ghost flames that you could hardly see . . . and chrome everything else. :D But I don't see those bikes in my near future. I enjoy the sport aspect of motorcycling too much right now.

Oh...that's a common one on the Ninja forum. It's usually used in the context of the Kaw vs. Suzuki debate. Big surprise.

Haven't you taken to adding Suzuki parts to your Ninja in an effort to improve it?

Great question! http://www.bigbikeworld.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif I like your style Dave!
The calipers I installed did come off a Gixxer, but they are, in fact, NOT "Suzuki Parts" per se. They're manufactured by Tokico. And they are the same calipers found on MANY Kawasakis...including the ZX-12R, ZX-9R, ZX-7, ZX-6R, and a host of others. I just happened to get the best deal from a loser that was dumb enough to by a Suzuki. :D
(FWIW, I happen to own a Suzuki 3-wheeler. And a Yamaha. Many people *say* they ride them all. I actually *do*.) http://www.r1-forum.com/gallery/images/wink.gif

Well, did they have a Suzuki part number?
Historically Kawis that I've owned and ridden had hot rod motors and cheap build quality. Suzukis were always a more complete package out of the box, but both had areas for improvement. This was years ago though; all of the Japanese bikes are light years ahead of what was available in the mid 80's. Except of course, the '88 models that Kawi still sells.

Nope...no Suzuki part number, just the Tokico number. You can line several of these up and can't tell which bike they came off of.
As for the mid-80s, if it wasn't from Team "Red", I thought it was all junk! Oh how times and perceptions change. I only wish I could affford to own about 50 of the new bikes so I could rightfully compare them all.

Ain't THAT the truth! I've got a extra car's worth of garage space, but there's NO way Gail's gonna agree to leaving the 350 in the driveway. :(
