The BMWMOA News magazine made a mistake in the listing of my mileage for the 2004 mileage contest. It was 8,928 miles, but got printed as 2,928 miles. That put me LAST in SC! How humiliating :D - which is what I told Karol Patzer, MOA mileage contest maven, in email.

Stressing my extreme humiliation :D , I asked Karol if MOAN would print a correction. She responded, and has agreed to print the correct info in her April column. I am so relieved! :D :D :D Vindicated at last! :D :D :D

I'm on a roll. What other great injustice shall I tackle next ?????

I really think you need to take your meds...find a soft place to lay down, and just rest for awhile. http://www.r1-forum.com/gallery/images/wink.gif

Glad to hear you've been "vindicated" Bob. http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/images/smilies/dance.gif (But now we'll all have to stop making fun of you behind your back.) http://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/violent/nutkick.gif

I just assumed that the problem was that most of your rides/trips were "round trips". So, since you typically start and end at the the same place your net mileage is really "0". :~)

Well Bob, I don't find that acceptable at all. If she is going to do that for you, she should also reprint the total mileage and average mileage for South Carolina. I can't remember how many folks have come up to me since 2004 and made fun of how little BMW miles were traveled by South Carolinians, how we are such wimps, etc. If I had known all this time that it was your fault, I'd have probably trailered my bike up to Greenville and challenged your to fisticuffs....or whatever cowboys do. :)

I wouldn't know what cowboys do, Jeff, as I aren't one :p - as far as correcting overall and average SC mileage statistics, you can fight that battle with Karol if you like. My fight is over, and I won! :D

And also ... disparaging remarks from Joe are expected, but as for my so-called friend Ms. Lynn Keen: may your new bike need valve adjustments at every check! :D (for those who don't know, Lynn's first LT went over 90,000 miles without ever needing a valve adjustment)
