High wind warnings in effect now

Yesterday had a gust clocked at 79mph - today, so far, one at 72.

Folks're loosing trees and fences around town.

3 freak'n days this blowing nonsense has been going on. Folks are start'n to get 'Kranky'

But, it's considered 'typical' for around here - so no one'll hear 'bout it on the news.

Ya should see the piles of broken cars along side of the big roads (and semi trailers, mobile homes, campers, boats...). Not seeing many bikes out lately. Wind is blowing snow across, higher temps and sunlight - melts, re-freeze. LOTS of black ice with these winds just now...

Lost many a good hat to the Wyoming wind. I think you're in Casper, right?
Have some old friends up there. We used to camp out at Alcova in the summer. This time of year is no fun up there!
My sympathies. :(

Hey Tom, nope - sorry. No 'flightless artic fowl' here. I'm a Linux enthusiast ('fanatic' some say). Penguin is the Linux mascott - Tux, the Penguin.

BUT! Door is still open for you'n yours on the way through.

Keith - Alcova, yea - fun place. I love surface diving the canyon. Well, when G&F ain't watching too close. <g> When we've a bit o time, me and a bud like to 'Run the Circle' around the resevoir. Fast as we can. There're a few places that'll ruin your day if your'e not watching. His Buell usually gets done first - but not always.

Good news is the roof and the antenna have survived the wind so far and there's more snow in the immediate forcast. Should kill the wind when the snow hits (I hope!). We've almost run outta dust though.

Having been raised in Wyoming in the 50s and 60s you have my sympathies. Man I can’t wait to reach retirement and move to Texas and begin enjoying some of that year-round riding they have.

Good thing they held CCR up there in August, rather than January. :D

Started raining last night about midnight.

Then it froze - then it snowed.

Yea, morning commute today was - uh, entertaining. Been listening to the VHF scanner (EMS, WYHiP, tow trucks) - poor suckers.

Wyoming weather = job security for Emergency Services. Ah well - it does keep the population down (not so many folks moving into the state with these conditions).

Hey - 'sperienced some of your wind in 04 - with nowhere to go or hide (miles of mud behind us) we rode into a dust/sand/rock storm. Sure glad I put that film on the fairing. Sure wish I'd put it on the mirrors, and the sides. LT rode/ran quite well thru it. Was still finding sand in places a month later! :)
