Depending on your year LT, you may have to by a replacement. The older shields used to fog over.

Mine was an 03 and I replaced it in 2005 with first a Cee Bailey before I bought a ZTechnick.

I have a similar fogging problem.

As stated, you will probably have to replace it. I've used denatured alchohol and it has helped, but it hasn't been permanent.

It's worth a shot, the alchohol atracts the water that penetrates the surface.

It is not an anti-fog coating, but a scratch resistant one. The shield is polycarbonate, a relatively soft plastic, and needs the scratch resistant coating to help prevent abrasion damage.

Unfortunately, the coating is somewhat penetrable by moisture, and will sometimes develop a moisture "haze" when cold.

Alcohol will usually pull the moisture out of the coating.

I had good luck using alcohol to clear it up, then used Brillianize on it to help prevent reoccurrence of the hazing.

I saw a 99 that was detailed and the guy doing it polished the crap out of the windscreen.
It looked like he11 when he started, and looked like new when finished.

I have had luck with McGuires aluminum polish clearing up plastic headlight lenses.
Whatever you decide to use make sure it only has a mild abrasive so you don't scratch up the shield.
I would try polishing it before buying a new one.

But I am cheap.

I've had the same problem with my '03............and have been using lemon Pledge that I heard about in one or another of these threads............seems to work pretty well...............Sound like what you don't want to do is anything with silicone in it though I haven't figured that one out yet..............Pledge is cheap; readily available; and seems to work........................next stop I suppose is to order another one out but I'll wait through the cold season.
