Purchased and installed the "tireAlert" system from Kisan. Front tire would not set up and Kisan sent me replacement parts. Great service and great info on rear tire.

My question is, How much should or does the tire pressure increase at speed, on a sunny dry road. Rear tire starting at 48 psi. rises to 67 in about ten miles. It drops a few pounds during a long stop at a stop light, and increased only about 7 on the rain ride home yesterday.

Is this excessive, I am a little concerned what will happen two up and loaded. and also during the summer time

I usually see about 7-10 lbs on the rear and about the same on the front maybe 7-9 lbs.

I fretted about it too a bit, but it was obviously doing the same thing for the year I was not watching it with a gage, so now no worries, it is what it is.

I set mine at 42/48. With the Smartire I get a 54 rear at 165 degrees. It is not excessive, it is physics. That is why they specify a max load rating at a max pressure COLD. Some systems (like Smartire) give you an actual pressue followed by the temperature compensated delta (+/-) from desired cold pressure and the tire temperature. That way I know if the delta for that temp is reading -4 psi then my tire is 4 psi low (from the cold 48psi) even though it may read 53 psi actual.
