Not wanting to start a debate over synthetic or not. Just would like to know if I went into my local bike shop (nearest BMW dealer some 75 miles away) which oil do I get for my upcoming 6000 mile service.
Thanks
John

Hi John, chances are it will be Castrol non-sysnthetic of some type as this is what is recommended. BTW how much oil have you added during 6000 miles? On my recent trip to france etc. the oil level has dropped half way down the window, and I now have a total of about 3.5K miles on it.

I'll have to check mine again, (and actually top it up), but I've just done 2.5k miles on a fairly new bike, and ridden it hard (on the way down, on the payage to Grenoble), mostly a constant 115-120mph, followed by fairly high speeds through the twisties & mountain passes. I would have expected it to use a bit.
