Voting on Silly issues and terrifying interest rates

One of the items I get to vote upon is an amendment to AZ's constitution that would require a majority vote, of all registered voters, on an issue related to funding.

Another one is an amendment to the State's constitution prohibiting any future additional taxes on housing sales. No, there isn't a proposal to create a new tax if you sell your house.

We have a vote on what looks like an extention to waive the max 36% interest rate for "PayDay" loans. Seems as if that with the waiver they can keep charging up to 430% interest.

I think credit card companies are predators when they raise the interest rates on past loans.

Paying back $1360 on a one year $1000 loan takes my breath away--paying back $430 on a $100 loan if it takes you a year to pay it off--freighting that it is legal. To me, thats legalized terrorism.

Looks like I might have to take the long way home after voting, just to clear my head and calm down.

How many days to CCR? I'm really looking forward to escaping all of this and hangin out with y'all.

Actually Bob, it is call usury (http://mw1.m-w.com/dictionary/usury). Another pass by our federal government, i.e. Congress, to watchdog the banks and their interest on credit cards. Same folks that said that you didn't have to have a good credit score to get a home loan from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

In IL, we get to vote on whether or not to hold a Constitutional Convention (for about $70 Million that we don't have) to rewrite the IL Constitution - the pols and special interest groups want to be able to -


Take money from State Pension Plans to fund unrelated projects of their choosing. Police, Firemen, Teachers and other state workers retire on those funds.
Make all retirement income, federal or state, taxable
Reduce state contributions to the Pension fund
I cannot imagine why anybody would vote for that.

There is also an amendment to the State Constitution that would allow recall elections to be held for state offices. I would start with any state official who is behind holding an expensive Constitutional Convention aimed at bilking retirees.

I do wonder if the commie bastards who are collecting these types of funds using speed cams (no points, just pay em) will get pre-empted with this amendment....the gov'ner should be re-named to "Ms. speed cams gone wild"...

I'm not feelin the love in AZ these days, although I spend little time there anyway, I do have to ride thru it a lot commuting to socal.
