View Full Version : What's wrong with my LT

About 3 months ago, my son in law was made redundant from his job. It came with company transport (white van) which he had to return. In an effort to help him find new employment, I loaned him my car (well I do have the LT after all) while he attended interviews etc. Didn't take him more than a week to find a job, but he need to borrow the car to get to work. So 6 weeks on and I get my car back because the son-in-law has got himeself a car.

Now I've been riding the bike to and from work, and thought I might as well keep using it, but it seems to have developed a fault. It's 8 miles to work, but I seem to be clocking up almost 20 miles each way when the weather is nice.

Do I need to buy a Satnav, is this a problem that can be fixed? and should I be worried?:D

I think the problem is clearly with your riding gear. If this only happens when the weather is nice then you clearly need NEW gear. :)

Have fun shopping.

I would say it is a metric conversion issue, but your location is in the UK. It's probably due to your driving on the wrong side of the road, as the LT is designed to operate on the right hand side of the road, not the left.

Do I need to buy a Satnav, is this a problem that can be fixed? and should I be worried?:DI am afraid a satnav will only make things worse as you may find little known roads with a few twists and your tires will last even less than before.
I hope you find the source of the problem before your commute gets longer! :D

Sounds like a case for 221B Baker St.

Lets see. 20-8 miles = the distance to your favorite pub?

We are heading into our best riding season now.

Mike..
You have a serious problem! If you can only find 4 extra miles between those particular waypoints, you must be in "traffic" between the two... To remedy, try finding roads that go "against the flow"..... it may take you a dozen more miles each way.. C'mon.. you gotta at least search for lower fuel prices..

I think I spend a few gallons each week seeking the best fuel prices. Funny, they all seem near the twistiest roads around. Perhaps I need a Satnav as well.

Mike,
It's the parallel universe phenomenon that you have seen on Dr Who and verified by Quantum Physics. You probably ride through the gate without specific knowledge and the satnav won't help because those satellites are on different wavelengths! :abduct:

Well tonight on the way home, I only clocked 8 miles, temp was .5 C showing on the BC, and those summer gloves are no good. Got my winter one out so tomorrow should be fun.
