It has been a while since I have been on since I sold my K12LTC a while back. However, I have now found the joys of the RS. I look forward to touching base with the more experienced RS guys on here and learning more about my new (2002) bike.

Hey Arte! I'll bet you're enjoying the RS. They seem like a timeless bike. I'd like to have one myself someday unless I get my Blackbird back permanently.
Here is the site for all things RS, http://bmwsporttouring.com/index.html
That said, there are lots of LT folks that have or have had RS's, so they'll be chiming in. I was more curious about what type taildraggers you are flogging these days?

Hey, Pete. I do indeed love my K12RS. I haven't had too much good weather lately to ride it though, unfortunately.
As far as the taildragger flying, I rented a C170 here in Nashville a few years ago. It was an A model and seemed slower than my old '46 C140. And that is sllloooowwww! :-)
Unfortunately, my old C140 that I owned for 9 years was crashed last May out in California. I put a lot of work into that little bird. 0-200 continental, IFR panel from C152, shoulder harnesses, wet vacuum, intercom, dual brakes, scott tailwheel, rosen visors, mode C, 720 channel, C152 control yoke and wheels.
It seems that the guy I sold it to in Houston back in '99 sold it to someone back here in Nashville a couple of years ago. He flew it to Ca. and put it into a ravene with engine troubles. (altavista search of N89671) I guess my shoulder harness upgrade came in handy for the crash. I don't know anymore details other than the report.
You fly much, Pete?

Dang! Always hate to hear of any A/C going down, but yours was nicely outfitted. used to do a bunch of flying, but haven't had a reason for several years. Probably flew every Cessna model up through the 80's. Solo'ed a brother in a Taylorcraft, spent lots of time screwing around in PA under several numbers...instructed in the Piper equivalent of the L-19...don't remember the PA number for the greenhouse version. Ft. Bliss FC had several, most with Lyc 115 and 135's. Used Bonanza's and Barons for work.
Oh, yeah, we were talking about bikes...I assume you have this site, or you will thank me for it. Its great. http://www.gunsmoke.com/toc.html
Good luck with your new ride.
